The following photographs and treatment results were recorded in the early 20th Century by René Quinton and Dr Jean Jarricot at the Quinton Dispensaries.  This is just a small selection of the thousands of patients that were successfully treated for athrepsia and other many conditions using Quinton Marine Plasma.

Athrepsia

Medical Definition: Profound debility of children due to lack of food and to unhygienic surroundings.

Case 1:

In the first photograph we see an athrepsic infant weighing at 3 months and 10 days, the equivalent of a baby at 13 days.

• Treatment: the child was treated for three months with Quinton Marine Plasma

• Result: gained 3,150 g (7 lb.) in 2 months. (Picture 2)  Complete cure.

Case 2:

The first picture shows a 40 day old infant with advanced athrepsia, weighing in at 2kg equivalent to 50% underweight . Described at the time as a "veritable skeleton".

• Treatment: Quinton Marine Plasma - (quantity and dosage not recorded).

• The second photograph shows the same baby at 2 months and 27 days; the weight had nearly doubled to 3980g

• The infant was entirely normal at 10 months.

Was followed for a long time as a beautiful, normal child.

Case 3:

The first photograph shows a baby girl aged 2 months 14 days old weighing only 53% of the normal for her age.

• Treatment: Quinton Marine Plasma (quantity and dosage not recorded)

• In the second photograph after 7 months of treatment her weight has doubled

• She continued to develop into a normal child

• In the 3rd photograph 25½ years later (Sept. 1911- May 1937) we see a normal healthy woman.
