Thousands of people of all ages from day-old babies to aged individuals were successfully treated by the 69 different Quinton Dispensaries for decades during the 20th Century when cholera, typhoid and other gastro-enteric diseases were rife. With improved sanitation, such diseases are thankfully much rarer but the principle of establishing a healthy digestive tract to help the body recover from digestive disorders is as true today as it was then.
Daily Quinton Isotonic helps establish a healthy digestive tract environment, which encourages "friendly" bacteria and helps the body repair the gut lining. Through supporting the body to repair any damage, Quinton can help alleviate the symptoms of stomach and bowel diseases such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and ulcers of all kinds.
When the structure of the digestive tract is correct and the cells are functioning properly in the correct physiological environment, the function of the digestive tract can return to normal to help all sorts of problems such as malabsorption. For those on a restricted diet, such as race jockeys, or following diseases such as Anorexia and Bulimia where intake of minerals is likely to be compromised by the low level of food intake, Quinton is the perfect source to ensure the rest of the body is adequately supplied with the minerals needed to function properly.
Vomiting and Diarrhoea are symptoms of, and are causes of dehydration in children and adults alike. Quinton replaces the minerals lost through these excretions and helps correct the water content of faeces and prevents body dehydration that can lead to fatal consequences.
Dose: drink 2 x Quinton Isotonic 10 ml ampoules every 2 hours until symptoms disappear.
Athrepsia Case Study
(Athrepsia = failure to thrive)
In the 1st photo taken in September 1911, the baby girl is 2 months and 14 days old and weighs only 53% of her normal weight. She was given Quinton for the next 7 months during which her weight doubled and her development was normal (2nd photo). She continued to develop normally thereafter. 26 years later in May 1937 she is in good health and normal (3rd photo).
Case Study: Dyspepsia, chronic enterocolitis and cachexia in a 20 year old woman
This woman (before and after pictures on RHS) presented with a 5 year history of chronic weight loss from dyspepsia, chronic enterocolitis and terminal cachexia. She had daily vomitting for the previous 2 years and had amenorrhoea (no periods) for the past 4 years. Two bouts of hospitalisation had failed to halt her deterioration.
She was given injections of Quinton Isotonic 3 times weekly (a total of 1000ml given) with no other treatment. She was able to tolerate milk after the very first injection, then, progressively, eggs, vegetables and meat. Her constipation disappeared after the third injection.
She gained 17kg in the two months between the photos, normal periods after 45 days and gradually accepted a regular diet and went on to make a full recovery.
